Joe's Diary: Ceremony Music
We've been listening to all kinds of CDs, trying to find our favourite pieces to arrange for the ceremony.
There are quite a few pieces that we need to choose. We've decided to walk down the 'aisle' in the registry office together, and we'd like to have some music played for that and when we enter. I've been quietly obsessing about what that music should be, but we also need a couple of pieces before that whilst guests wait and also something to keep everyone entertained whilst we take care of any paperwork. Pete suggested Robbie Williams for that bit - I think he was joking... then finally something for when it's done and we are leaving - something to lead into the big party!
There's the option of getting professional musicians involved, there are several advertised in the Wedding Organizer who specialise in performing at wedding ceremonies. A string quartet would be beautiful and would also entertain the guests whilst they wait. There are some fabulous soloist singers out there that can make a real difference to the feel of the occasion too. I'm sure that these professionals will be able to make some great suggestions with all of the experience they've had. Quite a few of them send out a sample CD of their performances to give an idea of the kinds of things they're good at.
